Nalpamaradi Kera Tailam – Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala – 200ml
Nalpamaradi Kera Tailam is a classical Ayurvedic medicated oil manufactured by Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, referenced in Sahasrayogam (Tailayoga Prakaranam 26) and the Ayurvedic Formulary of India (Vol. 1). This formulation contains the same classical herbal combination as Nalpamaradi Tailam — four species of Ficus bark, Triphala, Manjishta, and Chandana — processed in a coconut oil (Kera) base with a decoction of fresh turmeric and Parpata. The coconut oil base imparts a Sheeta (cooling) Guna, making this formulation traditionally preferred in summer, hot and humid climatic conditions, Pitta-predominant and sensitive skin types, and for post-natal and infant care.
⚠️ This is the coconut oil (Kera) version. For a warming sesame oil base suitable for winter and Vata-predominant skin, see Nalpamaradi Tailam.
For external use only. Patch test recommended before first use.
Classical Indications
Nalpamaradi Kera Tailam is classically referenced in Sahasrayogam for:
- Vicharchika — pruritic and weeping skin conditions associated with Kapha-Pitta imbalance, as per classical Ayurvedic reference
- Kushtha — skin disorders as traditionally classified in Ayurvedic dermatological texts
- Twak vikara — skin conditions associated with Pitta imbalance, classically referenced in Ayurvedic texts
- Post-natal and infant care — traditionally the preferred variant for Sutika (post-partum) and paediatric skin care in Ayurvedic practice, due to the cooling Kera base, under physician guidance
